Here’s the grid for the sprint race.

Norris goes second, Piastri takes it off him but it’s Antonelli on pole for the sprint race!

Hamilton jumps up to second, Verstappen reclaims the top spot with a 1’26.737 but Antonelli takes it off him!

Verstappen is already on his second lap and goes fastest in sector one. Albon goes quickest in the middle sector.

SQ3 begins and Verstappen puts up a 1’27.070. But Russell immediately knocks him off the top spot with a 1’26.791. McLaren and the rest still yet to run.

Albon goes seventh which puts Ocon out. Hamilton goes safe in sixth and that eliminated Hulkenberg.

Sainz is cruising in, he’s out.

Ocon puts Hamilton in the drop zone as the Ferrari driver begins his last lap.

Norris beats Verstappen to go top by a tenth of a second.

Gasly glances the turn 16 barrier.

Verstappen appeared to catch Hadjar perfectly for a tow on this lap approaching turn 17, he goes fastest in the first two sectors and tops the times with a 1’27.245.

Seven drivers haven’t set a time yet with three minutes to go – all hoping to get the best out of their tyres when they’re fresh.

The McLaren drivers take up the top of the times, Piastri ahead so far on a 1’27.354. Antonelli is third, Russell says he’s not happy on his latest set of mediums.

SQ2 has begun.

SQ1 is over and the following drivers are eliminated: Lance Stroll, Jack Doohan, Yuki Tsunoda, Gabriel Bortoleto and Oliver Bearman.

A late improvement from Russell puts the Mercedes driver on top.

Tsunoda has taken the chequered flag and is out in SQ1!

Lance Stroll has to dodge around Max Verstappen approaching the end of his lap. He goes 15th.

Tsunoda is going to be one of the last drivers to set a time, which is high-risk: He could benefit from the track evolution but is at risk from a late yellow flag.

Doohan briefly gets stuck against the pit wall on his way out of the pits. The Red Bull drivers overtake him but the stewards are unlikely to have a problem with that.

Bortoleto reports he touched the barrier at turn 16. Hadjar, currently last, had his only lap time deleted for going wide at turn 17.

Currently in the drop zone: Jack Doohan, Yuki Tsunoda, Gabriel Bortoleto, Oliver Bearman and Isack Hadjar.

Mercedes looked good on the medium rubber in practice and Andrea Kimi Antonelli uses it to go quickest with a 1’27.858. His team mate is a third of a second down in fifth place.

Lando Norris goes top with a 1’27.890, six hundredths up on Verstappen, who he passed during that lap. Piastri goes third, two-tenths off his team mate.

Lewis Hamilton goes second, two-tenths of a second off Verstappen. Charles Leclerc slots in second behind him.

Yuki Tsunoda, who has a problem with his helmet, is 1.2 seconds off his team mate after their first laps.

Max Verstappen puts up a 1’27.953 to head the early running.

The McLaren and Mercedes drivers are the last to join in as the track fills up.

The drivers head out of the pits after some disagreements, particularly from Doohan who points out Lawson has joined the queue when he was told not to.

Another €1,000 heads to the FIA coffers courtesy of Alpine, after Jack Doohan was caught speeding in the pit lane.

Esteban Ocon has also been given an official warning for impeding Norris in practice and his Haas team have been fined €7,500 for failing to alert him to the McLaren in time.

There’s been a few lines from the stewards since practice. Firstly, McLaren have been given an official warning for sending Lando Norris’s car onto the track with tools still in his cockpit.
