There is a major lightning storm to the south of the track at the moment but it’s heading past it to the east. Nonetheless, due to the risk of lightning the FIA has advised teams of special procedures which will be used if the race has to be stopped because of it. If the race is suspended due to lightning teams will be allowed to push their cars into the garages for protection – normally they have to stay in the fast lane of the pits.
The FIA has confirmed the final starting grid for the Miami Grand Prix.
Racing Bulls have reverted to a previously-used power unit on Liam Lawson’s car. He had a problem with his battery during Q2 yesterday.
As usual you can find details on which tyres each driver has available and all the other key strategy data in our pre-race briefing. One stand-out point to note is that Carlos Sainz Jnr has already used up all his fresh medium tyres, so he’s either going to take the start on used rubber or a new set of hards, neither of which is ideal.
There’s been one change to the starting order since qualifying yesterday. Alpine have made changes to the suspension set-up on Pierre Gasly’s car so he will now have to start at the pit lane. He qualified 18th so only Lance Stroll and Oliver Bearman move up on the grid.
We’re one hour away from the start of the 2025 Miami Grand Prix.
