The drivers are getting out of their cars as we wait to see whether the race will be restarted. With qualifying due to being in just over three-and-a-quarter hours, race control will rapidly find themselves tight for time.
The starting procedure has been suspended. The cars will form up in the pit lane.
Antonelli: “Can’t see anything behind the Safety Car.”
Verstappen has gone off and fallen behind a few drivers. As this is a formation lap he is allowed to regain his position.
“Visibility even in P2 is terrible,” reports Piastri.
They’re doing an extra formation lap behind the Safety Car which will reduce the race distance by one lap.
Pirelli’s data indicates all the cars are on intermediate tyres except for Sainz who’s on full wets.
The formation lap will go ahead at the planned time behind the Safety Car.
Race control says the risk of further rain during the sprint race is 70%.
The Ferrari driver has pulled to a stop and he will not take part in the sprint race.

Drivers are heading out of the pits to begin their reconnaissance laps on a wet track with more rain falling.
Rain started falling at the track around three-quarters of an hour before the start of the sprint race.
Pirelli has announced a potentially significant change ahead of the sprint race. F1’s official tyre supplier has increased the minimum starting pressures for front tyres by 1psi to 25.5psi. The rears are unchanged at 21.5psi.
